Turramarra House Project Overview
With generous proportions, an expansive garden, and abundant natural light, this home provided the opportunity to modernise and elevate its original character into a contemporary expression of family living.
Designed to be both highly functional and deeply liveable, Turramurra House prioritises practicality, with extensive storage seamlessly integrated throughout.
The project became an exploration of contrast — in materiality, colour, texture, and form — balancing warmth with restraint, and softness with structure.
The result is a refined yet grounded home that responds to the needs of modern family life while embracing a layered, tactile design language.
Design Approach
The interior architecture centres on proportion, material integrity and the modulation of natural light.
A restrained material palette of timber, stone and tactile finishes establishes continuity throughout the home. Custom joinery elements were designed to seamlessly integrate storage into the architectural envelope, reinforcing both function and spatial calm.
Careful detailing at junctions — between floor and wall, joinery and glazing — ensures the project reads as a cohesive whole rather than a collection of finishes.
